XM Extension Licensing
Overview
Prior to certification and subsequently listing on the XM Marketplace, you will need to decide on a commercial model. Extensions on the XM Marketplace can be either free or paid.
Licensing
When you submit your extension for certification and create your marketplace listing, you will be prompted to provide your preferred monetization mechanism. Extensions on the XM Marketplace can be monetized through the following models:
1. (Default) Extensions as Qualtrics SKU Free or Paid Add-ons
As of today, all extensions require an underlying Qualtrics SKU to operate – the corresponding SKU(s) will be determined by Qualtrics during certification and XM Marketplace listing for your extension.
If a Qualtrics customer or prospect is interested in your XM Marketplace listing, they can request more information from your listing and the Qualtrics team will forward the client’s information.
Free
If your extension access is free, you will be able to immediately enable your extension from within the Qualtrics Partner Portal. A full history of client extension access will be available within the Partner Portal.
Paid
If your extension access is paid, you should transact for your extension on your organization’s paper. Solutions listed and sold through the XM Marketplace are subject to Qualtrics’ standard marketplace agreements, including a revenue share.
Once transacted as desired, you will have the ability to enable your extension for your client from within the Qualtrics Partner Portal. Qualtrics will record the date on which your extension was enabled for each brand, to enable you to enforce the time frame of access for which your client has paid.
2. Extensions included in a Qualtrics SKU(s)
Some extensions may be eligible to be defaulted to “On’ for all brands with a Qualtrics SKU(s). In this option, your extension will be “free” and accessible to any client who has the corresponding SKU(s).
To leverage this option, an exception process will take place during certification where sign off and commercial agreements are agreed upon with corresponding Qualtrics staff.
