Troubleshooting
Common setup and runtime issues and how to resolve them.
- iOS
- React Native
- The SDK requires iOS 13.0 or later. If your project targets an earlier iOS version, you must update it:
- Open your Project File and set the minimum deployment target to iOS 13.0.
- If you're using CocoaPods, open the
Podfileand update the platform version to iOS 13.0.
General
-
If you encounter issues debugging your app with React Native DevTools, ensure your app is using the Hermes Engine rather than JSC (JavaScriptCore). You can verify which engine your app is using with the code snippet below:
const isHermesEnabled = !!(global as any).HermesInternal;
if (!isHermesEnabled) {
throw new Error('Hermes is not enabled');
}

- Open
ios/YourProject.xcworkspacein Xcode and set the minimum deployment target to iOS 13.0. - Open the
ios/Podfileand update the platform version to iOS 13.0.

React Native Android
-
Ensure your app targets Android SDK 23 or later (
minSdkVersion 23inbuild.gradle). If the minimum version is set lower, the build will fail with a manifest merger error. -
If your app targets API 23–25, you must enable core library desugaring for
java.timesupport. See Core library desugaring for the required configuration. -
If you encounter issues with cached dependencies, run the following command in the
/androidfolder to force Gradle to fetch the latest versions:./gradlew --refresh-dependenciesTo verify you are using the latest available version, refer to the Android section in the Release Notes. The React Native SDK wraps a native Android module, so the relevant version is listed under Android.
